Arriverderci Venezia, ci siamo divertiti un sacco (we had a ball)!! (Mandy)

I got a bit carried away this new marbling technique, using a mix of egg tempera and pigment and then ink and water on top.

British Pavilion (Sandy)

Still here in Venice! Made a return visit to "English Magic" curated by Jeremy Deller. I was able to watch the film that brings together the ideas behind the exhibit concerning the diverse nature of British society - past, present and future. Now one of my favourites. And I can't get the music performed in the film by the Melodians Steel Orchestra from South London out of my head!

Goodbye from sarah and nic

Thank you La Trobe and La Trobe partners, friends and family for making us feel like Venice had become our home for these past weeks. Here's a very realistic drawing I have been working on:). Safe travels and happy Pizza.

Inspired by washing

this blog was crafted at the beginning of this trip. Lovely to have these memories.

The whole concept of everyday life and domesticity intrigues me. It reminds me a lot of Dieter Roth's video diary 'solo scenes'. In a destination filled with tourists and man made entertainment, there is something so touching and real about ordinary life. Also, isn't a clothes line a great idea for an installation?
